We have a tentative title for the new album:

H-Town

It’s not written in stone, but that’s the way we’re leaning right now. The songs are about 98% complete, and mastering date is set for Dec 6th. Getting it out before the end of December will be a bit of a challenge, but we’re still aiming for it.

Plenty of stand out tracks, plenty of genres. Doug — you wanna talk a little bit about the narrative?

    Ah yes, the narrative.

Well, there was no narrative to begin with. Just a bunch of songs. But we wanted to be able to describe what each song was about, so we gave each one a short narrative.

Then we recorded the song “For A Good Cause.” For some reason, I felt compelled to go a bit over the top, making the narrative kind of fanciful – like the story the Peter Gabriel wrote to go along with Genesis’ “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.”

Then – looking at all the individual narratives – we could kind of see how they all sort of could be tied together. And there it was – accidental concept album!

I don’t want to spoil the plot too much, but there are themes of depression, lost love, undercover police work, and general melodrama. With some science fiction and supernatural elements here and there. Don’t be surprised if the full story gets posted to the site someday 😉

I agree with what Doug says, since I actually am Doug. Thought I’d test out some admin stuff with this comment as my alter ego.
