Yes, as the catalog page now indicates, the brand-spankin’ new album is finally available.  Why, here; I’ll make it even easier! : http://cdbaby.com/trianglex3.

Hasn’t quite made it to iTunes just yet, but it’s getting there.  The whole thing is available from CDBaby in MP3 form, at a reduced price, however.  But we did put a little extra somethin’ on the physical CD 😉

Now, go forth!

The album has been mastered on Dec 6th, so it’s in the can! The mastering really brings out all of the nuances and brightens up the whole album. Everything counds nice and crisp and dusted off now.

Don Jones lent his formidable harmonica skills to Olive Juice Pt I, giving it a real bluesy rock feel, especially in that 1st verse.

Dr Armadillo starts it off. Really crisp guitar and drums. A bright album opener that we’re hoping will bring everyone in.

Wake Up and Close your Eyes features some funky clavinet work that is really reminiscent of early to mid career Todd Rundgren.

Bryan Beller’s killer bass work on F. Cotton’s Shenanigansis a real highlight of the album, and the mastering has really brought that forward.

Anyway, we’re just grinding out the artwork now. Full release expected within a month.

We have a tentative title for the new album:

H-Town

It’s not written in stone, but that’s the way we’re leaning right now. The songs are about 98% complete, and mastering date is set for Dec 6th. Getting it out before the end of December will be a bit of a challenge, but we’re still aiming for it.

Plenty of stand out tracks, plenty of genres. Doug — you wanna talk a little bit about the narrative?

Yes indeedy!  We’ve just spent a large portion of the last few days throwing together this here website.  Thought I’d pause to compose the first post of our little news feed here.

Yeah, and we have an album we’re trying to button up.  45 minutes in the can, 3 more tracks to finish up, and simultaneously getting this website to look halfway presentable.

The album has been in the works for pretty much most of ’08.  As usual, we’ve been kinda lax as far as sticking to a particular genre – I’ll post up the montage we’ve put together, like, soon, and you can get a good sample.

A real highlight of putting this album together was getting to work with and learn from bass player extrordinaire, Bryan Beller.  After all the time I’ve spent interpreting bass parts for most of our tunes, it was a blast to hear someone who actually knows what he’s doing break down the low end of our instrumental, F. Cotton’s Shenanigans. Bryan’s most recent work has included touring with Steve Vai, Dethklok, and another of our favorite artists, Mike Keneally.

All right – I’m beat.  But stay tuned – we expect to have more news shortly about the new CD.
